The Christian significance of marriage is that it takes place in the context of Christian worship. Marriage is a gift God has given for the well-being of the entire human family.

The Session of First Presbyterian Church has established the following:
  • Weddings may be conducted in the church sanctuary or in other places where the arrangements may conform to such practices as are in accord with the Presbyterian Book of Order.
  • A minister from the church will officiate the ceremony.
  • The date and time for the wedding must be arranged with the minister.
  • Use of the church organist is expected. Music used during the ceremony should be sacred in nature and appropriate to the Reformed tradition.
  • The use of the church wedding coordinator is expected. The coordinator will help run the wedding in consultation with the officiating minister.
