DIRECTOR OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

​Allison oversees the Christian Education Ministry at First Presbyterian. She leads faith formation programs with children, youth and adults including Sunday School, youth group, Bible studies and special events.  

She joined our staff after serving in churches in Johns Creek, Georgia and Aiken, South Carolina.

She is a life long Presbyterian, certified Christian Educator and ordained ruling elder. She joins us with her husband, Chap and son.

​She enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling and is looking forward to being closer to the beach. ​

MALLORY ABSHIRE

Financial Secretary and Office Administrator

Mallory manages the church finances and office administration. A Savannah native raised in Ardsley Park, she returned after 25 years in Sarasota, FL, where she co-owned a business and raised two children. She enjoys being near family, working with the congregation, and time with her husband.

HUGH DANIELS
“JOE”

​DIRECTOR OF MUSIC & organist 

Jonathan leads the church's music program. Holding doctoral coursework from the University of Oklahoma and serving on the faculty at Georgia Southern University, he is a gifted pianist and organist.

Well-connected locally, he previously served as interim choir director at another Savannah church and performs frequently as a tenor soloist. Jonathan aims to expand the music program, recruit musicians, and leverage music for outreach and worship enhancement.

​He is described as a spiritual servant leader and brilliant musician.

HOWARD CRAWFORD

Director of Facilities

Howard Crawford moved with his wife, Judith, to Savannah in 2012 and joined First Presbyterian Church in February of 2013. For the past 12 years he worked at Hancock Day School as Head of the Middle School, Director of Facilities and Operations, and IT Coordinator.

​Before coming to Savannah he was Director of Government and Community Affairs for St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont. He served 10 terms in the Vermont House of Representatives. He currently serves as Director of Facilities for First Presbyterian.

DOROTHY BUNKER
​"Dede"

DIRECTOR OF FPC PRESCHOOL

Dede Bunker has led First Presbyterian Preschool since July 2021, bringing over 25 years of experience in early childhood education. She holds degrees in Social Work and Early Childhood Education and previously taught in Georgia's Lottery Funded Pre-K program.

​Before joining First Presbyterian, Dede worked with EmployAbility, teaching life and job skills to adults with disabilities. Originally from Missouri, she moved to Savannah over 40 years ago and resides in Parkside with her husband, Craig. They have one daughter living in New York City. In her free time, Dede enjoys gardening, experimenting with new recipes, and walking her energetic dog.

Joe Daniels maintains the church facilities. He came to First Presbyterian after 32 years as Sexton at St. Paul’s Episcopal. Originally from Hampton County, SC, he has lived in Savannah for 46 years and is invaluable to the church.
