Transitional/Interim Pastor - search in-process
MinisterThe Transitional/Interim Pastor will support the congregation in identifying its mission and purpose as the body of Christ during this time of transition and into the future. He/she is responsible for providing spiritual leadership and administrative oversight of the church’s ministries, including worship, music, preaching, teaching, mission service, stewardship and fellowship. He/she will provide dynamic and meaningful biblically based preaching and teaching ministry. She/he is responsible for moderating the Session and willwork with the Session and church staff to provide opportunities for members to engage in worship, discipleship and mission.

Allison ShearouseDirector of Christian EducationAllison oversees the Christian Education Ministry at First Presbyterian. She leads faith formation programs with children, youth and adults including Sunday School, youth group, Bible studies and special events. She recently joined our staff after serving in churches in Johns Creek, Georgia and Aiken, South Carolina. She is a life long Presbyterian, certified Christian Educator and ordained ruling elder. She joins us with her husband, Chap and son. She enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling and is looking forward to being closer to the beach.

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND ORGANISTWe currently have an open position for our Organist and Director of Music. In the interim, we will feature excellent and accomplished guest artists until a permanent professional can be selected to join us for services and concerts on our Schlueter pipe organ.

Barbara manages all aspects of accounting for the church. She works directly with the minister and the chair of the the financial committee to forecast, budget and report all financial transactions. Barbara has been in this position with First Presbyterian Church since 1995. She was born and raised in Savannah and grew up in Ardsley Park. She now makes her home in Effingham County with her husband, Mark and daughter, Kayla.
